Soundproofing hell

I paid over a thousand dollars to soundblock and soundproof one of my rooms which I am gradually trying to turn into a recording studio… paid weeks ago. The order was supposed to be arrive last week and was put on hold cause the owner of the place is a moron. The owner of Extreme Soundproofing actually said to me, “I had other things to do and I forgot to put your order through.” So I had to wait a few extra days. Then she tells me the order is going to be delayed so I have to wait longer. So I waited… Now the stuff is supposed to be delivered today, Friday. And guess what? The owner has turned off the phone, didn’t show up at work, I am assuming she is the only one who works there so I can’t reach anyone. I’ve waited for a long time now and it’s so annoying to have to find someone to get a truck every time she changes her mind. Thank God my boyfriend is sweet and patient. But now I’m thinking I won’t be able to pick up my order tomorrow and it’s actually really aggravating me.

Seriously. Do you all know how much trouble I go through to make a recording? There are kids on the other side of the apartment complex who scream and play and yell and act stupid. All I want is to get that room soundproofed so I can start making some great recordings without having to stop/go/stop/go every few seconds and re-record cause some stupid kid is screaming, “That’s mine! I’m telling.”

I want my soundproofing stuff so I can take the towels off the windows and have a somewhat functional room. By the way… DO NOT NOT NOT use “Extreme Soundproofing” in San Diego, CA. Bad service. Flaky owner. Really flaky. She told me her life story and held me there for 3 hours while I filled out paperwork to get acoustic drapes, closed-cell foam, and thick soundblocking vinyl. I will never again do business with them. And I still haven’t gotten my stuff in yet. I’m so annoyed right now. Actually, I’ve been pretty annoyed all week cause of this. This has set me back in a big way and is aggravating to make plans only to have them squashed by her lack of professionalism.
