Recording Sound Quality

Each recorded listing has a “Sound quality” description. Here are clear definitions of what to expect on each one!

Professional First-Rate – The best form of quality. Anything that has this has been professionally edited or mixed and is the highest quality experience available on this site. And of course, a microphone mic boom stand was used so I didn’t have to touch the microphone when I talk. This allows a sexier sound so you don’t hear shuffling. Total recording equipment (mics, mixers, equalizers, etc.) worth around $2,000.

Great – Very few scratches and knicks. Very nice and pleasant listening experience. Recorded using a $99 Logitech headset microphone.

Good – Some scratches may be heard. Also the sound clarity may be slightly mumbled or hard to hear at some points, but overall a nice listening experience. Recorded using a $40 Logitech headset microphone.

Amateur – No sound editing. Will definitely hear shuffling, moving, wind interference, and unprofessional sound. (There is only one amateur recording and it was done that was cause I was being tickled, so I couldn’t very well “control” the situation.) Recorded using a $99 Logitech headset microphone strapped to my head.

Poor – Has several knicks, scratches in recording despite sound editing. This was partly due to a poor sound converter that inserted invisible “beats” throughout the recording. (There is only one poor recording and I’ve left it up due to it’s popularity).) Recorded using a $99 digital voice recorder.
