Isabella goes to Holiday World
So out of the blue, I had this spontaneous idea to go to Santa Claus, Indiana (I swear, that’s the name of the city) with Maurice and go to an amusement park called Holiday World. We had a fabulous time on the rides, especially the roller coaster called “The Voyage.” I must admit, my favorite part about the whole trip was watching him scream like a bitch on all the rides. LOL. Isn’t that horrible? Most of the time, even on the fastest of rides, I’d be watching him hanging on for dear life, screaming and I’d be laughing my butt off. I guess some of us relish in other people’s terror.
We also went to a gift shop and had the neat idea to spend $20 on the other person so we’d have something nice to remember the trip. He got me a cool little glass pink and clear kitty cat that was hand-blown on the spot as well as a cool necklace that has his name imprinted on a piece of rice. How sweet! I love handmade things and both of the items he chose were created in the gift shop while we browsed. I got him a brown teddy bear and a necklace with my name on it. His spiritual animal totems are pelicans and bears so I tried finding pelican souvenirs but couldn’t find anything. So the bear actually worked out nicely. Last night I slept with his bear and today I’m wearing the necklace he got me. I love how sentimental they’ve turned out to be.
During most of the day, I wore sunglasses, something I don’t normally do. I have this thing where usually I hate it when people wear sunglasses because it prevents me from looking into people’s eyes and having a “real connection.” However I went there for the sole purpose of hiding my eyes from the public. I know this sounds weird, but sometimes my head hurts (to the point of burning fire) because I overwork my eyes from looking at people. The sunglasses came in handy. It truly felt like a vacation! It was fun to take my sunglasses off for most of the photos
After the trip, we purposely got lost (spontaneous adventure exploring) on our way home and ended up in Louisville, Kentucky. We drove around the rougher side of town for nearly an hour before finding our way back towards Indiana. I don’t know why, but at one point, I actually got scared. People would ride their bikes in the middle of the road TOWARDS traffic and two people swerved right in front of my car. At one point I accidentally turned into a “one way” the WRONG way and had to wave and make a humble face to the drivers who made room for me to do a u-turn. It really was embarrassing to turn down a one-way lane and have to turn around. It’s good to be alive. We ended up getting a hotel at the Sheraton which overlooked the river and gave us a fabulous view of the skyline.
Here are some photos from Holiday World:

Isabella,
You seen to be having a good time, and I bet Maurice did as well. We all have a good time here in the Midwest (I’m just across the border in Ohio). The smiles and laughter is food for the soul, and seems to spread to everyone around us too.
From the number of blog posts, it seems you are also happy to be back behind the monitor too.
So nice to see your doing well.
