Breath Control
Breath control sets both the mood and the pace for the listener. If the hypnotist is breathing heavy and fast to “get the words out” – the listener will feel that. Some hypnotists like to emphasize their breath so the listener can easily follow along with the sounds, becoming relaxed just as the hypnotist is with his or her words. When a hypnotist is in control of his/her breath, there is a sense of discipline and self-training that comes through in the session. This conveys a sense of confidence-within-experience because breath play is a discipline.
The breath is trainable.
Recording hypnosis isn’t about slowness or quietness. As Bruce Springsteen says in the song Streets of Philadelphia, it’s about “You and I, my friend.” A relaxing breath, within each word – drawn out within your own personal cadence – is a very persuasive tool in erotic hypnosis. It is a skill that is developed over years and years of time.
Some options:
1) Remove all breath sounds. Bring all words together with no spaces, no silence. This is common in the brainwashing genre.
2) Emphasize all breath sounds. Breathe in so loudly and intentionally that the listener absolutely follows.
3) Breathe in between phrases – remove periods and commas from your script – use hyphens – as – place – for – breath
4) Speak in narrative. Clear. Concise. Direct. And soon you can feel …
5) Holding breath in for 2 counts, breathing out 4. Holding in for 4, breathing out 8. Holding in for 8, breathing out for 12.
6) Breathing naturally, no change.
7) Breathing from the diaphragm
Breathing from the throat
All of these are right… those options are available.
Monks and Taoist energy experts talk about breathing from the diaphragm (abdominal muscles) or using the full body chi when breathing. Everyone has the option to use their favorite breathing techniques of their choosing. Once you find your own, develop it, and it will become a recognizable style that you can call your own.
Wikipedia has excellent reading material on breathing and posture to use when singing that is just as helpful when doing vocal erotica.
All hypnosis begins with breath. All vocal sounds are created by vibrations in the larynx caused by air from the lungs. Breathing in everyday life is a subconscious bodily function which occurs naturally and easily.
